I’ll be honest. I assumed OurDream was another Candy AI clone with a different paint job.

It isn’t, quite. It’s built around pictures and video first, and its pricing is refreshingly easy to read. You subscribe, you get coins, and the help center tells you what each thing costs. That’s rarer than it should be in this category.

This review combines published product information with independent reviews and user reports. We checked the public website and pricing details on October 27, 2026; hands-on chat, memory and paid-feature testing has not been completed.

OurDream AI at a Glance

Premium prices were checked against OurDream’s own homepage and monthly-versus-annual help article on October 27, 2026. Its upgrade screen also advertises a Deluxe tier. What Is OurDream AI, Exactly?

OurDream AI is an adults-only AI companion platform. You pick a ready-made character or design your own, then chat by text, call them by voice, and generate images and short videos of them.

It’s run by Dream Studio USA, Inc., a Delaware corporation with an address in Dover, according to its terms (last modified August 26, 2026). Its refund policy also names Dream Studio LLC and Tektopia Ltd. That’s more paperwork than plenty of apps in this space publish, and it means you know who you’re paying.

It’s inclusive from the first screen. The welcome screen lets you choose women, men or trans companions before you even sign up.

There’s nothing to download, either. OurDream says it doesn’t have a standalone mobile app yet, so it runs in your browser, and you can add it to your phone’s home screen. Its terms name only two official addresses: ourdream.ai and ourdream.io.

That last point matters more than usual. Search for OurDream and you’ll trip over copycat domains, lookalike review sites and a Google Play app called “Our Dream: AI Companion” from an unrelated developer. None of them are OurDream. Type the address yourself.

You’d be in plenty of company if you tried it. A July 2026 Talker Research survey of 2,000 US adults found that 11% had had a flirty or romantic conversation with an AI chatbot.

Free vs Premium: What You Actually Get

OurDream AI is free to join. It’s barely free to use.

Since an August 2026 change, announced by moderators on OurDream’s subreddit, a free account gets five messages per character before replies blur out. There are no Dreamcoins, images, video or voice calls on a free account. (OurDream’s coin guide, last edited in March, still says free chats cost one coin per message, and its help center says it doesn’t currently hand out free coins. Either way, the taster is tiny.)

Five messages will tell you whether you like the interface. They won’t tell you whether a character can hold a conversation.

Is there an OurDream AI free trial? Not really. The free account is the trial, and OurDream’s refund rules make your first payment the real test (more on that below).

Premium, on either monthly or annual billing, gets you:

• Unlimited text chat on the standard chat models
• 1,000 Dreamcoins a month for images, video, voice and premium chat models
• Image and video generation, including edits and image-to-video
• Access to community characters (some packs cost coins)

My tip: spend your free messages on the one scenario you care about most, with a ready-made character. If the replies don’t grab you in five turns, coins won’t fix it.

Setting Up and Building a Character

Setup takes a couple of minutes:

• Go to ourdream.ai. Type it in rather than clicking an ad or a lookalike link.
• Confirm you’re 18 or over, then sign up with email or a social login.
• Pick a ready-made companion from Explore, or tap Create to build your own.
• Start chatting. In the UK or Australia, expect a full ID check through Go.cam or AgeVerif.
• On a phone, use Add to Home Screen so it opens like an app.

The character builder is the deepest part of OurDream. A DatingDroid guide from April describes realistic, anime and fantasy styles, detailed appearance controls, around 40 personality presets, 19 voices and 20 relationship roles, from lover to ex. You can also write a custom greeting and an opening scenario, which shape the conversation more than any slider.

Then there’s Fusion, which puts two of your characters into one consistent scene, and a library of community characters that other users have published. Popular community characters come in packs priced at 250 to 1,000 coins per character.

One thing to know before you make a character public: OurDream adds images made with public characters to that character’s public pack (with your details stripped), and popular public characters can stay live even after you delete your account. Keep anything personal out of public descriptions, and keep your creations private if that matters to you.

As ever, it’s adults only. Every character and scenario has to be 18+, and OurDream’s rules ban media depicting minors in any form.

What OurDream AI Really Costs

Like most of its rivals, OurDream has two price tags: the subscription and the coins. Unusually, it tells you what both are.

Here are OurDream’s Premium prices in US dollars, checked against its own help center on October 27, 2026:

Coins only come with a subscription. You can buy extra packs once you’re subscribed, but their prices only appear inside the app.

Deluxe is also available. The current upgrade screen lists $59.99 per month, or $359.88 billed yearly (equivalent to $29.99 a month). It advertises 5,000 Dreamcoins each month, a 5,000-coin annual sign-up bonus, included premium chat models and three times the chat memory. These are advertised allowances, not results from our own tests.

OurDream’s published coin guide, last edited March 2, 2026, lists these usage costs for subscribers. Premium models are included in Deluxe according to its current upgrade screen; check your selected plan and model before generating.

Do the math and a month’s 1,000 coins buys roughly 200 in-chat images, 20 minutes of voice calls or 50 seconds of standard video. On the annual plan, a coin works out at under a cent. That makes the running costs easier to estimate, and failed generations refund their coins automatically.

The 60-second video cap is the one to watch. A maxed-out clip costs 1,200 coins, more than a whole month’s allowance in one go.

The fine print, from OurDream’s help center, refund policy (last modified March 9, 2026) and terms (August 26, 2026), as quoted by The Best AI Girlfriend App and RoboRhythms:

• No refund once you’ve used more than 25% of a purchase. Monthly plans aren’t refundable once the coins are spent, while annual plans “may be eligible” for a full or partial refund
• Card refunds take 5 to 10 business days. Crypto payments can’t be refunded
• UK, EEA and Swiss buyers get a 14-day withdrawal right, though it can lapse once the service has been provided
• A refund wipes your unused coins and blurs your images and videos
• Filing a chargeback before contacting OurDream can get your account suspended
• The terms include binding arbitration and a class-action waiver. You can opt out by written notice within 30 days of first accepting them
• The help center contradicts itself on coins. One article says unused coins last until your billing period ends and aren’t restored if you resubscribe. Another says “Coins do not expire!” Plan on losing them when you cancel

How to cancel: go to your profile page (ourdream.ai/profile), choose Cancel subscription and confirm. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. There’s no automatic refund, and your generated images and videos blur until you resubscribe, so download anything you want to keep first.

My advice? Annual Premium works out cheaper if you already know you will use it for a year. If you are unsure, try the free messages first and consider a single paid month. Paying a year upfront is a commitment, and refunds are limited.

Chat and Memory: Does OurDream Keep the Thread?

On a paid plan, text chat on the standard models costs nothing, so you can talk as much as you like.

OurDream gives you more say over the chat engine than most rivals. RoboRhythms counts seven chat models you can swap mid-scene, including the premium Genius and Lively Genius models at a coin per reply. Guides also describe a response-length setting and a dial for how quickly a scene escalates. Model availability can change, so check the current selector before paying.

Memory is where OurDream gets vague. Third-party guides describe pinned memories and a continuity feature that tracks the gaps between chats. But The Best AI Girlfriend App couldn’t find any OurDream page that explains how memory works or how long it lasts.

User reports on long sessions aren’t reassuring. One paying subscriber, quoted by RoboRhythms, described a character wandering completely off-script after hours of chat. RoboRhythms called long-session consistency OurDream’s real weak spot.

Images, Video and Voice

This is OurDream’s home turf, and the reason most people pay for it.

• Images. Ask for a picture in chat (5 coins) or use the generator (10 coins for two). Guides describe batch sizes, orientation options and edits to poses, outfits and backgrounds afterward. OurDream uses character-locked image models, so your companion should look like the same person from one picture to the next.
• Video. Turn an image into a clip, or generate one from a prompt. Standard video costs 100 coins per five seconds, up to a minute, and an Ultra Quality video costs 200 coins. Adding audio costs 20 coins a second.
• Voice. Call your character for 50 coins a minute, or have replies narrated in a premium voice for 5 coins a paragraph.
• Fusion. Put two of your characters in one scene, which few rivals offer.

Quality is the open question. In a March 2026 snapshot of OurDream’s old Trustpilot page, reviewers praised the chat but complained that images and video fell short of the marketing. That’s worth knowing before you budget around video.

Two rules are worth repeating. OurDream doesn’t let you upload reference photos, specifically to stop deepfakes of real people, and its rules ban any media depicting minors. Don’t try to recreate anyone real, and keep every character and scenario 18+.

Privacy, Discretion and Deleting Your Account

OurDream publishes plenty of policy detail. Some of it is reassuring. Some of it is worth reading twice.

What happens to your chats, per OurDream’s privacy policy (last modified August 26, 2026), as quoted by The Best AI Girlfriend App:

• Your data can be used to train its AI models, and the policy offers no opt-out
• Your messages are processed by an outside AI model provider, and some image models run on third-party services
• Staff read private chats only with your explicit consent or in response to a lawful request
• OurDream says it doesn’t sell your chats, but it can use de-identified data for any purpose, and its California section says identifiers such as cookies and IP addresses may be shared with advertising partners

OurDream also says it encrypts data at rest and in transit and uses SOC 2 Type 2 certified hosting. Those are its claims, and nobody outside the company can easily verify them.

How long it keeps your data. The policy says data is kept “for the time necessary,” with no fixed periods.

Deleting your account. Per OurDream’s help center, deletion is permanent and takes 24 to 48 hours. It wipes your generations, chat history and unused coins, with no refund, and it cancels any active subscription. Popular public characters you made may stay up afterward.

Discretion is decent. There’s no app, so nothing turns up in your phone’s app store history. You can pay by card or crypto (OurDream doesn’t take PayPal), and crypto keeps the purchase off your card entirely, though it can’t be refunded. OurDream doesn’t publish the name that appears on card statements, so check your first charge.

Age checks. OurDream asks you to confirm your age at sign-up. In the UK and Australia it runs full checks through Go.cam or AgeVerif, and says it receives only a pass or fail result. Since July 25, 2025, Ofcom’s rules have required strong age checks on UK services that show porn, so UK readers should expect to verify.

A few habits help:

• Sign up with an email address that doesn’t include your name
• Keep real names, addresses and workplaces out of your chats and any public characters
• Set a reminder a few days before renewal

For context, OurDream isn’t unusual here. When Mozilla reviewed 11 romantic AI chatbots in 2024, every one failed its privacy review.

What Reddit, Forums and Review Sites Say

OurDream has its own subreddit, r/ourdream_ai. These are the recurring themes in the user reports gathered for this review.

The free tier change stung. When moderators announced the five-message limit in August, the replies were blunt. One user asked how five messages could possibly be enough to get a conversation going. The moderators said further posts on the topic would be removed.

Support can be slow. In a thread titled “Ghosted by support,” a subscriber said two tickets and two emails had gone unanswered for about a week. Commenters swapped theories about how the support queue works, but none of it is documented anywhere.

Long sessions drift. One notable complaint came from a paying user whose character wandered completely off-script after hours of chat. It lines up with RoboRhythms, which called long-session consistency OurDream’s weak spot.

The praise is mostly about chat. Before OurDream’s Trustpilot page came down, a March 2026 snapshot showed a 4.2 TrustScore from 98 reviews. Reviewers liked the conversations, while the complaints centered on images and video falling short of the ads and on coin costs.

Trustpilot has pulled OurDream’s page. In late October 2026, Trustpilot listed OurDream’s own profile as removed for going against its guidelines, without saying which ones. The Trustpilot profiles that show up in search belong to lookalike domains, not OurDream.

Watch for copycats. Search for OurDream and you’ll find dozens of lookalike domains and thin “review” sites, plus that unrelated Google Play app. Stick to ourdream.ai or ourdream.io, and expect affiliate links almost everywhere you read about it (including any on this page).

The overall picture? Across these reports, people who want visuals with predictable costs tend to stay. People who expected a generous free tier or rock-solid memory in long stories tend to leave disappointed.

Who It’s For (and Who Should Skip It)

OurDream AI is a good fit if you:

• Want lots of images and short videos, with costs you can predict
• Are happy to commit to the annual plan
• Enjoy designing characters in detail
• Like the idea of putting two of your characters in one scene

Skip it if you:

• Want a free tier you can actually use.
• Mainly want long, text-led stories with reliable memory
• Want your chats kept out of AI training
• Don’t want to keep paying just to see what you’ve already made

OurDream AI Alternatives Worth a Look

If OurDream’s mix of predictable coins and a thin free tier doesn’t suit you, these are the obvious next stops. Prices move often, so treat these as starting points.

• Candy AI. It’s far cheaper at $3.99 a month on the annual plan, with unlimited chat and 100 tokens a month. The trade-off: most token prices only appear inside the app, so heavy image use is harder to budget.
• Nectar AI. Its $9.99-a-month Premium plan sets out a monthly allowance of photo and voice messages, so you know what you’re getting before you pay.
• Nomi. It’s built around memory and conversation rather than images, which makes it the better bet if continuity matters most.
• SpicyChat. It has a huge library of user-made characters and a free tier you can actually chat on, with ads.
