Sona 2 Cruise Review
Emma Miles gives this new toy from LELO a whirl in our LELO SONA 2 Cruise review. Find out if it tickled her fancy and is likely to tickle yours below…
Swedish company LELO design, develop and manufacture a range of sex toys. Today we’re going to take a peek at one of their popular products, the Sona 2 Cruise, a clitoral stimulator designed to deliver high-tech intimacy.
We’ll shine a light on how the toy works, explore its features, highlight the pros and cons and assess the product’s performance.
How Does the LELO Sona 2 Cruise Work?
What’s better than an orgasm? How about a longer-lasting orgasm with depth and intensity? The Sona 2 Cruise utilizes innovative SenSonic technology to stimulate the clit.
You can use the vibrator in a couple of ways, go for direct contact and experience full power or hold the toy above your clit and benefit from a more subtle approach. Whichever you choose you’ll get to enjoy the unique suction from the opening and you’ll feel the waves of pleasure stimulate the whole of your clit, inside and out.
Key Features of the Sona 2 Cruise
The Sona Cruise 2 boasts plenty of features, let’s see what the product has to offer:
Design
The Sona 2 Cruise comes in three show stopping colors – cerise, purple, and the more traditional black. The vibrator has a futuristic look that matches its cutting-edge technology – it’s simple, sleek, and unassuming, with a gentle curve and a unique opening at the top.
Size
Sex toys come in all shapes and sizes, the Sona 2 Cruise measures 99mm in length and 87mm in width. The exterior opening (which resembles a mouth) is big enough and deep enough to accommodate the clitoris easily.
Materials
The ideal vibrator is robust and body-safe and thankfully the Sona 2 Cruise falls into that category. The toy is phthalate-free and although it’s made from plastic, the vibrator boasts a soft silicone exterior. This means you’re in for comfortable playtime.
The Sona Cruise 2 is also waterproof so you can wash it with ease and even take it into the bath or shower (who says sex has to stay in the bedroom?).
Settings
The Sona 2 Cruise has three buttons and boasts eight modes, so you can enjoy a range of sensations. There are twelve settings, all in all, so you won’t be short of entertainment.
The modes vary but include repeated sharp surges of intensity, a mode that lingers with ongoing vibrations, and a mode that randomly surges and drops – unpredictable and so much fun!

Power
LELO has worked hard behind the scenes to come up with an innovative concept known as cruise control. In the heat of the moment, you might press your vibrator against you, but you don’t always get the sensation you hoped for. Some women complain the intensity falls away, leaving them feeling deflated.
The Sona 2 works differently, the clever gadget has been designed to reserve 20% of its overall power. When you get carried away and press the vibrator to your vulva, you’ll notice that the motor loses some of its force. However, you don’t need to worry – this is when the 20% bounces back in and you’ll be able to experience the orgasm-inducing potency.
Charge
The toy is rechargeable and can be powered with a USB charger. Leave the product to charge for two hours and you will be rewarded with approximately one hour of naughty fun.
Warranty
LELO is a reputable manufacturer, known for producing quality sex toys. However, the Sona 2 Cruise comes with a 1-year warranty to guard against any unexpected defects.
Extras
You’ve got your new sex toy and you have all those lovely features to try out, what more do you need? How about a handy storage pouch? The Sona 2 Cruise comes with a satin storage pouch so you can pack away your toy safely after you’ve used (and cleaned it).
There’s also a detailed instruction manual. We don’t anticipate you’ll need much help on the operation front, as the Sona 2 seems straightforward enough, but the manual is there should you need to check-in.
How did the Sona 2 Cruise Perform?
The Sona 2 Cruise is a sophisticated-looking sex toy and would look good lounging in your toy box or kit bag. Appearance isn’t everything, but I’m pleased to say the product is impressive on the performance front too.
Suction-style vibrators are all the rage, and it’s not hard to see why! The sonic waves of the Sona 2 Cruise sent ripples of pleasure through my body.
The sensation is best described as a delicate sucking motion and the twelve settings were a recipe for success on the orgasm front. It’s hard to say if my orgasm was more intense, or longer than usual, but it was up there as a frontrunner.
I played solo this time around, but next time I’ll invite my partner to come and give this a whirl with me. I’m sure he will be more than willing to oblige (in the name of research).

Pros and Cons
- Waterproof
- Variety of settings
- Some settings may be a little loud
- Buttons can be tricky to press
The Sona 2 has plenty going for it. For a start it’s waterproof – so you have the perfect excuse to have some soapy fun in the bath or shower.
With its 12 settings you are sure to find the perfect way to reach that all important orgasm.
The product also has a couple of not-so-good points. The settings make for interesting play, but one or two could benefit from being slightly quieter. The final mode involves the vibrator alternating between gentle and firm ripples – this is the setting that’s on the louder end of the scale!
We should also mention that it can be tricky to alter the intensity as the interface buttons aren’t as sensitive as they could be. It’s not a huge deal, but you might have to press a bit harder than you think.
Would I Recommend the Sona 2 Cruise?
Good looks and lots of power, including the unique cruise control – the Sona 2 Cruise ticks plenty of boxes. The SenSonic technology delivers powerful clit stimulation and you get to guide the play – direct contact for intense sensations and the hover motion for delicate (but still potent ripples). All in all, the Sona 2 Cruise is a good buy, adding one to your toy collection would be a masterstroke.
